Verizon Contract Rally Saturday, July 25
At Verizon HZ, 140 West St, in lower Manhattan, 11am
The contract between Verizon and CWA/IBEW covering workers for the East Coast expires on August 1. The contract covering the technicians at Verizon Wireless workers expires August 1 as well. And CWA is bargaining a first contract for retail workers at the Brooklyn, NY and Everett, MA Verizon Wireless stores who joined the union last year.
Bargaining started June 22, and Verizon has made clear they are looking to eliminate our job security, cut our pensions, increase our health care premiums, and contract out our work.
We can't let them do that. CWA members are mobilizing to win a good contract. We're asking Local 1101 members from across the local, regardless of what company you work for, to come to the rally Saturday, July 25 to support our brothers and sisters at Verizon.
